JUST SAW THE BAD CLAMS AT THE ELKS CLUB AND IT WAS TRANSCENDENT

OCTOBER 17, 2023

FARMDALE EXAMINER, Oct. 17 - Seeing such a monumental band in such a small depressing space was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Or maybe several times in a lifetime. I don’t know because I haven’t lived my whole life yet.

This band makes a small venue feel like a stadium, and I’ve seen them in stadiums which they made feel like a small venue. In medium size venues the feel remains medium size.

The concert was such a profound experience for me that I found myself in a reflective mood afterwards. Why would a bunch of moderately successful businessmen name their club after an elk. What are the traits of the elk that they were hoping would rub off on them? Elk pretty much just graze, drink, and shit and that’s mostly what these businessmen do already. And what’s the difference between the Elks and The Optimists? Are elks pessimistic animals by nature? Do they stand around in big herds grumbling about things they can’t control? And what exactly is the Rotary Club? What’s that about? Is there a scantily clad woman in there on a big rotating platform? That would be wrong, and it makes me sad to think it’s happening in there without me.
